In
2001 the govt. of Canada had created Marihuana Medical Access Regulations
(MMARs) which was aiming the access to marijuana for medical purpose
resolutions. Initially the MMAR allowed access to cannabis for medical purpose
for Canadians meeting certain requirements. Under this rules users had to
submit all the answers of ques asked by health Canada and also require to
satishfy their with the best answers. If they are satisfied with the answers by
the applicant then only they would authorize that applicant for marijuana
production. These applications also required physician support confirming that
the individual physician support confirming that the individual suffered from
one of a list of approved conditions. Individuals who require the access of
medical marijuana they can grow their marijuana with the permission from health
Canada or can buy dried marijuana or cannabis oil form authorized marijuana
produce or they can buy their marijuana for medical store.
After
all this, back in 2013 the govt. of Canada replaced the MMPR with the marijuana
for medical purpose regulations (MMPR) which came into effect on April 1 ,
2014. Under this rule health Canada is no more the provider of the marijuana
license. In this rule the individuals must receive a medical document from a
health care practitioner to authorize use of medical marijuana. Under the
current rules and regulations, Canadians with a medical document can produce a
limited amount of cannabis in this way must way must apply for registration
certificate form health Canada and designated growers must also be registered.
Now
we need to know how the medical cannabis will effect (The bad way) on human
being and they are following –
1.
Pregnant Women! Marijuana can affect the
pregnant woman very bad way. If a pregnant woman smokes cannabis during
pregnancy or pure cannabinoids are taken by mouth, whether for medical or
non-medical reasons, they cross the placenta and can produce harmful effects on
the fetus. If the mother uses cannabis after the delivery, then that cannabis
could harm the newborn as well.
2.
Cannabis can have serious adverse effects
on various aspects of mental and emotional development, depending on the age at
start of use and the duration. If somehow any child could get access to
cannabis smoke then this can have adverse effect on the native.
3.
Those with a history of problematic
substance use or a substance use disorder, whether of alcohol, prescription
drugs or illicit drugs.
4.
Those with a personal or family history of
psychosis: They are at greater risk of developing an acute psychosis through
use of cannabis or THC-like cannabinoids.
5.
Those with pre-existing disease of the
heart and coronary arteries (see below under Adverse Effects).
However,
with all of the above bad things cannabis still could cure several deseases as
well and they are following –
1. It
can be used to treat Glaucoma.
2.
It may help reverse the carcinogenic
effects of tobacco and improve lung health.
3.
It can help control epileptic seizures.
4.
It also decreases the symptoms of a severe
seizure disorder known as Dravet's Syndrome.
5.
A chemical found in marijuana stops cancer
from spreading.
6.
It may decrease anxiety.
7.
THC slows the progression of Alzheimer's
disease.
8.
The drug eases the pain of Multiple
Sclerosis.
9.
Other types of muscle spasms could be
helped too.
10. It
lessens side-effects from treating hepatitis C and increases treatment
effectiveness.
11. Marijuana
treats inflammatory bowel diseases.
12. It
keeps you skinny and helps your metabolism.
13. While
not really a health benefit, marijuana spurs creativity in the brain.
14. Marijuana
might be able to eliminate Chron's diseases
15. Pot
soothes tremors for people with Parkinson's disease
16. Marijuana
helps veterans suffering from PTSD.
17. Marijuana
protects the brain after a stroke
18. Weed
reduces some of the awful pain and nausea from chemo, and appetite.
